2012 Daily Norseman Community Mock Draft - Dallas Cowboys

New, comments

Picks 1 through 13 are in the books.

  1. Indianapolis Colts - Andrew Luck, QB Stanford
  2. Washington Redskins - Robert Griffin III, QB Baylor
  3. Minnesota Vikings - Matt Kalil, OT USC
  4. Cleveland Browns - Trent Richardson, RB Alabama
  5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Morris Claiborne, CB LSU
  6. St. Louis Rams - Justin Blackmon, WR Oklahoma State
  7. Jacksonville Jaguars - Michael Floyd, WR Notre Dame
  8. Miami Dolphins - Ryan Tannehill, QB Texas A&M
  9. Carolina Panthers - Quinton Coples, DE, North Carolina
  10. Buffalo Bills - Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa
  11. Kansas City Chiefs - David DeCastro OG Stanford
  12. Seattle Seahawks - Luke Kuechly LB Boston College
  13. Arizona Cardinals - Jonathan Martin OT Standford

The 13th pick is very close but as of right now Martin has the very slight edge.

Now let's look at the Cowboys.

walterfootball.com lists their needs as ...

CB - They signed Brandon Carr and released Terrence Newman. Could they be looking for another CB too?

C -Is it too early for Peter Konz?

G - They signed Nate Livings and Mackenzy Bernadeau (meh)

S - They signed Brodney Pool (meh)

ILB - They signed Dan Connor

Rush LB - They franchised Anthony Spencer

I think they may be looking at Mark Barron awfully hard right here.

Also Fletcher Cox or Michael Brockers would be nice additions to their defensive line. Dontari Poe could free up Jay Ratliff to move back out to an end position in their 3-4 defense. Cox is ranked the highest by cbssports at #7.

They could take a look at Cordy Glenn right here too.

I think they will also look at Dre Kirkpatrick or Stephon Gilmore here because Mike Jenkins is upset about his contract.

Jenkins, who is in the final year of his contract, will make a base salary of $1.052 million this season.

During training camp last year, the Cowboys gave nickle corner Orlando Scandrick a five-year, $27 million contract extension with $10 million guaranteed. This offseason, the Cowboys signed cornerback Brandon Carr to a five-year $50.1 million deal.

His agent is Drew Rosenhaus too.

Could be he is not going to get the big bucks from the Cowboys.

I have to think that this pick will be either Kirkpatrick or Barron.

But rumor has it that the Cowboys are in love with Dontari Poe.
