As we get closer to the 2012 NFL Draft. . .and we are now just two weeks away from the big party at Radio City Music Hall. . .the rumor mill is going to begin heating up more and more concerning the highest pick that is not, apparently, set in stone. Everyone knows what's happening with the first two picks, but the third overall selection of the Minnesota Vikings could still be in play come April 26.

At least one NFL executive, Indianapolis Colts' owner Jim Irsay, thinks that teams need to be giving the Minnesota Vikings a call in order to move up to that spot for a quarterback.

Tannehill is a hidden gem in this draft, a quiet secret who was always sneaking up to #3..you want him, you better talk to Zigi The Biggie!

I might just refer to Zygi Wilf as "Zygi the Biggie" from here on out. Thanks to Mr. Irsay, I can't get the image of Wilf walking around with a big ol' hat on with a ridiculously large feather sticking out of it out of my head.

Rick Spielman probably does still want to trade down from the third overall spot in the 2012 NFL Draft. If he does so, he will hopefully do so for a ton of extra selections. I know that the Vikings wouldn't get anywhere near the compensation that the St. Louis Rams received from the Washington Redskins to allow them to move up to #2, but it would still have to be a pretty substantial deal in order to get the Vikings to move away from the chance to take one of the draft's true blue-chip prospects.

Oh, and according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Minnesota Vikings are targeting one of three players with their #3 selection. . .USC tackle Matt Kalil, Oklahoma State wide receiver Justin Blackmon, and LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne. Or, as we'd like to refer to it, the same damn thing we've been telling you for about two months now. That's why they're the Worldwide Leader™.
