For the first time this year, Mock Roger Goodell takes the mock podium (while dodging mock debris hurled at him from angry mock Saints fans) and announces the pick:
"With the first pick in the 2012 Daily Norseman Community Mock Draft, the Indianapolis Colts select..."
"...Andrew Luck, quarterback from Stanford."
Well, duh.
Most of the NFL world thinks that Luck is going to be a Colt, and you guys agreed in a landslide. In fact, it was so much of a landslide that I'm writing this post in advance so I can't give you the exact final tally of the voting breakdown. Let's move on to the Washington Redskins and the #2 pick.
Since one über-coveted quarterbacks is already off the board, this next pick is going to be even simpler. The Redskins traded three first round picks, a second round pick, and a partridge in a pear tree to the Rams to move up from sixth to second in the first round of the 2012 draft. And it sure as hell wasn't to take a corner or a left tackle.
After the Colts take Luck #1, there's only one option that makes sense for Washington--Robert Griffin III. The end. Sure, you can vote for "other" in the draft or explain why someone other than RGIII makes better sense for the Redskins, but you're going to end up being wrong. Just vote for Griffin and wait for the Vikings pick tomorrow.
