One Night Without A Highlight Video Is Enough

Combination of things kept me from getting a video up here last night. . .got home from work late (which generally isn't an obstacle), but more importantly there were a couple of specific plays I was looking for that I couldn't find decent copies of.

So, in lieu of those, I'll just go with a play we've gotten numerous requests for over the past week that we've been doing these videos.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Adrian Peterson flattening the hell out of (then) Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back William Gay.

I remember the first time I saw this play, the mic picked up Peterson screaming on the sidelines, and I honestly thought he might have been hurt. Thankfully, it turned out that he had just been celebrating.

Watching this play, it's not like Peterson had a huge head of steam when he ran into Gay or anything like that. Gay just stepped in front of him, and that all by itself turned out to be a very bad idea.

Yes, the Vikings wound up losing this game, their first loss of the 2009 season, but nobody forgot that play. Well, William Gay might have, but it's entirely possible that he didn't actually remember it to start with.
