With a little less than four hours left before the deadline to reduce rosters to 53 players, we're finally starting to get some news out of Winter Park as to which members of the Minnesota Vikings have been asked to see the coach and bring their playbook.
According to Tom Pelissero of ESPN 1500, the first player cut today is defensive end Jeff Charleston. Charleston is a former Saint that signed with the Vikings during the off-season, but wasn't really considered to be much more than a camp body.
We will continue to keep this post updated as we continue to get more names in that have been cut by the Vikings. Cuts throughout the NFL have been masterfully tracked by Arif in our original Open Thread on the subject, but this one is going to remain focused specifically on the Vikings.
Keep it tuned right here for all the latest roster moves coming out of Minnesota. In the interest of saving space on the main page, the updated cuts are now after the jump.
UPDATE: LESS FULLBACK! Per Pelissero, the Vikings have waived fullback Ryan D'Imperio.
UPDATE: The Vikings have released defensive tackle Trevor Guyton, one of their seventh-round picks from the 2012 NFL Draft.
UPDATE: The Vikings have released defensive end Nick Reed.
UPDATE: The Vikings have released offensive lineman Chris DeGeare.
UPDATE: The Vikings have released wide receiver Emmanuel Arceneaux.
UPDATE: The Vikings have released running back Lex Hilliard.
UPDATE: After waiting for what seems like forever, the Vikings have released offensive lineman Kevin Murphy.
UPDATE: In what easily qualifies as the biggest shocker to this point, the Vikings have released quarterback Sage Rosenfels. Guess this means McLeod Bethel-Thompson sticks after all. Wow.
UPDATE: The Vikings have cut tight end Mickey Shuler. Guess Reisner sticks as the fourth tight end. Still a bit shocked about the Rosenfels thing.
UPDATE: Too little, too late. . .the Vikings have released running back Jordan Todman.
