As we start to put a bow on the week one, I'm still trying to adequately explain the level of emotions I went through watching the Vikings overtime win against the Jaguars.
But I'm gonna try, in GIF form.
I woke up Sunday morning happy because football was back. I had a cup of coffee and got a smile on my face thinking that the Vikes game was going to start in just a couple hours. Then I remembered my mother in law was still here, and I ditched the coffee and went straight to the booze:
I finished my breakfast, and had to decide on my gameday garb. Where's my AP jersey? Oh no, oh NO...OHNOOHNOOH---whew, there it is:
So, jersey on, I head over to my Dad's to pick him up. He was fired up and ready for the game, as usual:
So we get to kickoff, and things don't start off well. The Vikings offense was sluggish, and the Jaguars took a 9-0 lead. My Dad and I weren't very happy, but we were handling it pretty well, I think:
Finally, the Vikes got untracked, and scored a TD right before halftime:
Then, at halftime, my mother in law left to go home, back to Indiana:
As we got deeper into the second half, Percy Harvin started making plays, and Adrian Peterson scored two TD's. Yeah, we were fired up:
Also...
But then, the fourth quarter happened. We could feel the tide turn, and when Blaine Gabbert threw the go ahead TD pass with under 30 seconds left:
My dad was like:
And I was like:
And we were both like:
But then something awesome happened, and Blair Walsh kicked a 55 yard FG to tie the game with no time left!! Even David Akers couldn't believe it, and he tied and NFL record by hitting a 63 yarder in Green Bay:
OVERTIME, BITCHES!! How you feeling, J'ville?
'Cuz we ain't even mad, bro. And then Blair Walsh kicked another FG. And then Gabbert did this:
And my Dad and I did this:
And this:
And then we went CRAZY!!
Great game, Vikes. I did feel bad for Jags fans, though:
You know what? We had a whole season of that last year. We're not impressed:
1-0. First place!
