It used to be that the only time we'd get NFL football on a day other than Sunday or Monday was on Thanksgiving. But now, with the NFL being as big as it is, the football gods have decided to bless us with as much football as possible on as many days as possible.
The Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants played in the middle of last week and, starting tonight, there's at least one NFL game every single Thursday up to, and including, Week 15. (Week 16 and Week 17 will have no Thursday night games.) By rule, every NFL team will play once this season following a Sunday game.
Tonight's match-up pits two of our NFC North rivals against each other, as the Green Bay Packers will play host to the Chicago Bears. Our beloved Minnesota Vikings will have their Thursday night matchup in Week 8, when they'll play host to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Metrodome.
So, if you've got a hankerin' for some football this evening, you can turn on the NFL Network and get your fix. . .even if it DOES mean having to watch Chicago and Green Bay.
