Wide receiver Jerome Simpson is returning from his three-game suspension this weekend and everyone involved with the Vikings is pretty excited about it.
Except for Allen Reisner, of course.
Simpson had a roster exemption from violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. When a player returns from an exemption, that means someone else on the roster has to be waived to make room in the 53-man limit. Reisner proved to be the odd man out.
The move isn't much of a surprise--the Vikings still have plenty of depth at tight end with Kyle Rudolph, John Carlson, and Rhett Ellison. Reisner hadn't seen a single snap of action through the team's first three games this season. He looked solid throughout the preseason, but he definitely didn't do enough to stand out among the crowded group of talented Vikings tight ends.
So what do you think about the roster move? Was it inevitable or do you think someone else should have been waived in Reisner's place? Let us know in the poll and comments.
