Just like they did last week, things got off to a very nice start for the Minnesota Vikings, with Percy Harvin taking the opening kickoff of the game 105 yards for his fifth return touchdown as a member of the Minnesota Vikings. Shockingly, with as productive as he's been, this was Harvin's first trip to the end zone this season, but that's something that can't help but change in the future.
The Lions' first drive netted them a field goal, as a long pass interference penalty on Jamarca Sanford put the Lions deep into Minnesota territory. However, the Lions had to settle for a Jason Hanson field goal from 40-yards out to make the score 7-3.
The teams exchanged punts, with Letroy Guion registering a sack for the good guys. On the Vikings' second possession, the Vikings started from their own 9-yard line. Jerome Simpson drew a big pass interference penalty to put the ball into Detroit territory. The drive stalled, and Blair Walsh managed to ricochet one in off the upright from 49 yards out to put the Vikings' lead back to 7 at 10-3.
That's where we stand right now, with the Lions having just gotten a first down as we move on to the second quarter. Join us for all the action right here!
