It's the last day of the work week, ladies and gentlemen! We still have a longer-than-normal wait for Minnesota Vikings football, but at least we have the weekend to look forward to at this point.
Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .
-Eric has posted his weekly picks for your viewing pleasure.
-Mark has his latest look at which college players you should be keeping an eye on this weekend. (Spoiler: You should probably pay attention to the quarterbacks.)
-Arif and company have the latest episode of Norse Code posted for everyone to listen to.
-And in keeping with our upbeat theme so far this week, we informed you that there's a chance that safety Harrison Smith might be done for the season. (Doesn't appear I can put sarcasm font in the main post. My apologies. Just imagine it there in the appropriate spot.)
From some other outposts around the internet. . .
-The Vikings are apparently looking to get defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd some more work. I have no doubt this is in response to my post from yesterday on the subject.
-Tom Powers says that the Vikings should trade Adrian Peterson. Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com thinks Tom Powers is guano loco.
-Sid Hartman says the Vikings miss Antoine Winfield, in a matter not unlike which the deserts miss the rain. (Sid may or may not have actually said the second part of that.)
-The team says that Andrew Sendejo, and not Mistral Raymond, will replace Harrison Smith at safety on Monday night.
The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've always been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, and keep the bad language to a minimum/make use of the spoiler tags if you feel that you absolutely must curse.
Your final ambient music selection for this week, folks.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Friday, folks! Enjoy the rest of your day, and keep your eye out for new stuff as this Friday moves along.
