This week's game between the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Giants shouldn't be too terribly hard to find. . .it's the only game in town for this Monday night. But if you're having trouble figuring out exactly how to find the action, or if you're away from a television, let us help you find the way.
Television Info
This game, as all Monday night contests are, will be handled by the folks from ESPN. That means your announcing team in the booth will consist of Mike Tirico and Jon "THIS GUY. . .THIS GUY, MIKE" Gruden. You won't need the Sunday Ticket package or anything like that to be able to find this one. . .just tune your television to ESPN. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:40 PM Central time. The last time the Vikings were. . .ahem. . ."featured" on ESPN, the announce team barely acknowledged the Vikings' existence. Hopefully this won't be an issue this time around.
If you're in the United Kingdom, the game will be televised on Eurosport, with kickoff slated for Tuesday morning at 1:40 AM. For our men and women in uniform overseas, the game will be carried by AFN Sports. Kickoff is scheduled for 0040Z, which is 0240L in Central Europe, 0510L in Afghanistan, and 0940L in Japan and Korea.
Radio Info
If you're travelling or just prefer the sound of the radio call to the television announcers or what have you, the Vikings Radio Network is for you. Paul Allen and Pete Bercich are behind the mics again this season, and you can find one of their 74 affiliates near your area.
If you have satellite radio, you have options there as well. If you have an XM Radio, you'll be able to get the feed from the Vikings' announcers on Channel 225, the Giants feed on XM 86, or the national feed from Westwood One on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Channel 88. If you have a Sirius Radio, you can get the Vikings' announcers on Channel 92, the Giants' feed on Channel 86, or the Westwood One call on Channel 88.
Referee Info
According to the folks from the Football Refs website, this week's game has been assigned to referee Tony Corrente's crew.
Streaming Info
This game, as well as every other Monday Night Football contest, is available for streaming by legal means from the WatchESPN website or app.
As far as other streams are concerned, do NOT. . .and I mean not in any way, shape, or form. . .promote illegal streaming sites on The Daily Norseman. Not in the comments, not in the FanPosts, not in the FanShots, not in the Game Thread on Sunday, not anywhere. Don't even hint at them. Trust me on this. If you're that determined to watch the game via an illegal stream, do a Google search and find it on your own.
If you live overseas, the only legal stream, that I know of, is to purchase NFL Game Pass from the folks at NFL.com, which is actually a pretty sweet deal. I've got it for the games that aren't on AFN, and from using it to watch the pre-season games, it's a pretty solid product.
That should be everything you need to find Monday night's action, folks. And, as always, we'll have the Game Threads here for your interactive coverage of the festivities.
