Jared Allen Trade: Rumors Abound

It looks like the Vikings might swing a deal for the All pro defensive end

If reports on Twitter are to be believed, Jared Allen's time in Minnesota might be short.

According to multiple NFL folks, All Pro DE Jared Allen is being pursued by two or three teams, depending on who you believe. The team most associated with these rumors is the Seattle Seahawks, because of a little known bylaw that states every player that ever had a pulse for the Vikings must, at some point in their career, go to Seattle.

We are still about 2.5 hours from the NFL trade deadline, and Allen would probably need to re-structure his deal regardless of where he would end up, and of course, compensation would have to be agreed on, but there's a lot more smoke to this than there was just 24 hours ago.

Another team rumored to be involved is the San Francisco 49ers, but the Seahwaks are making the biggest push. And if this is any pre-cursor, the Vikings have just announced via Twitter that they have waived TE Chase Ford and signed DE Justin Trattou. Could that be a move to backfill a soon to be vacant DE position?

The plot thickens, kids. Stay tuned to Daily Norseman for more on this developing story.
