Minnesota Vikings News And Links, 11/14

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sport

It's Thursday, ladies and gentlemen, which means that we have NFL football on the television this evening, as the Indianapolis Colts travel to take on the Tennessee Titans in this week's installment of Thursday Night Football. We're still looking to Sunday to watch the Minnesota Vikings, but we should have plenty to fill the void until then.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-We had a couple of stories on wide receiver Jerome Simpson, as Eric told us that Simpson will likely play but not start, while Kyle wondered what should be done with Simpson now.

-Mark brought us his weekly look at which college football players we should be keeping an eye on this weekend.

From some other outposts across the internet. . .

-It still appears that Christian Ponder will get the start at quarterback for the Vikings this Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.

-Wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson apparently isn't too concerned about comparisons to the last electric Vikings' kick returner.

-The Vikings will continue to play Kevin Williams at the nose tackle spot on defense.

-The team made a couple of practice squad moves, as they signed offensive tackle Jamaal Johnson-Webb after they lost offensive lineman Travis Bond to the Carolina Panthers.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, folks. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, and keep the bad language to a minimum/use the spoiler tags if you feel that you absolutely must curse.

Here's your next selection for our ambient music of the day.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Thursday, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day, and keep your eye out for more from your favorite site for Minnesota Vikings coverage.
