There is very scant information out regarding this, but apparently Vikings cornerback A.J. Jefferson was arrested last night and is currently in Hennepin County jail. The charges list domestic assault and he is currently being held with probable cause without bail (not surprising considering how early into this it is). Again, this is extremely fresh information and no further details are available; as more information comes to light we will update this story. At this time it is probably safe to assume he won't be on the field for our contest against the Bears, which is less than good news for our already depleted secondary (while Jefferson wasn't exactly a cornerstone, we did play several snaps against the Vikings [PACKERS WE PLAYED THE PACKERS you know what, screw it, we kinda played against the Vikings too] with a safety lining up at the cornerback position).
UPDATE: Per multiple sources breaking across the Twitterverse, the Vikings have released Jefferson. Wow, is really all I can say at this point. Didn't see this arrest coming, didn't see the consequences of said arrest coming, either. And from a pure football perspective, this makes a paper thin secondary even worse off now. Honestly, this season can't end soon enough. Ted
UPDATE THE SECOND: According to Pro Football Talk, the Vikings have signed OT Mike Remmers off of waivers from the San Diego Chargers. He was waived on Saturday when the Chargers brought up another tackle from their own practice squad. The Chargers signed Remmers off the Bucs practice squad last month after signing with the Broncos in 2012 as an undrafted free agent. He started 1 game for the Chargers. CCNorseman
