We've already highlighted some of the great performances from last week's game against the Green Bay Packers, including Blair Walsh. But now he's gets some additional recognition from the NFL at large. Vikings.com let us know this morning that Blair Walsh was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week. They reported:
Walsh went a perfect 4-for-4 on FGs, including a 47-yarder in regulation and a 35-yarder in overtime, and added 5 kickoff touchbacks, both season highs.
Walsh is the 2nd Viking to win the award in 2013, joining rookie WR/KR
Cordarrelle Patterson, who also won the award for a performance against the Packers in Week 8.
This is Walsh’s 4th Special Teams Player of the Week award, joining Gary Anderson for the most in team history.
Let's give our 2nd year kicker an nice standing ovation for his award.
