Much like last week's game with the Green Bay Packers, we've already taken one look at the history between the Chicago Bears and the Minnesota Vikings, but now the scene shifts from Soldier Field to the Metrodome. This will be the last time these two teams play under the teflon sky, and the Bears will probably be quite happy to never have to see the place again.
As always, these statistics come to you from the folks at Pro Football Reference.
Total Games Between the Bears and the Vikings: 104
All-Time Record: Vikings, 53-49-2
Total Vikings Points Scored, Head-to-Head: 2,183 (21 points/game)
Total Bears Points Scored, Head-to-Head: 2,037 (19.6 points/game)
Longest Vikings Winning Streak: 8 (3 December 1972 - 10 October 1976)
Longest Vikings Losing Streak: 6 (13 December 1983 - 5 October 1986 and 28 December 2009 - 25 November 2012)
Most Recent Vikings Victory in Minnesota: 9 December 2012 (Final score 21-14)
Most Recent Bears Victory in Minnesota: 1 January 2012 (Final score 17-13, last game of 2011 season)
Biggest Vikings Victory in Minnesota: 28 points, 25 November 1990 (Final score 41-13)
Biggest Bears Victory in Minnesota: 31 points, 25 November 1984 (Final score 34-3)
And since someone's probably wondering after last week's result. . .yes, these two teams have tied twice in their history, but both ties occurred in Chicago. There was a 17-17 deadlock on 1 December 1963, and a 10-10 tie on 10 December 1967.
Not a whole lot has changed history-wise since the last time these two teams got together, folks. . .hopefully the Vikings can get the best of the Bears one final time at the Metrodome before the stadium meets the wrecking ball.
