After leaving the Cowboys game last Sunday, Phil Loadholt's status was somewhat up in the air for this Thursday's game. It's now (I think) official, as per Leslie Frazier today he will not be playing.
Granted, Frazier actually said that Loadholt won't be playing Sunday. Which is also true for Adrian Peterson, Christian Ponder, Jared Allen, and every other Viking. While I'm going to go ahead and assume it was a simple slip of the tongue and that he meant Thursday, I'm also intrigued by the possibility that he meant what he said and just hopes that nobody with the Redskins checks the schedule. AMBUSH!
All kidding aside, I have yet to see an actual deadline for Loadholt's return- just that he won't be playing this week. Hopefully he returns sooner rather than later, as while he's not having a truly stellar year I would imagine we're going to sorely miss him as J'Marcus Webb holds down that RT spot. Because the last thing this O-line needs right now is any additional weakness.
So in case you're keeping track at home, the Vikings have no Harrison Smith, Desmond Bishop, Chris Cook, Jamarca Sanford, Kyle Rudolph, Phil Loadholt, and lord knows I'm probably forgetting someone. Man, we have gone full Packers on injuries this year, huh?
