A Brief Look At Redskins/Vikings History

Okay, folks, we've got a heck of a lot of stuff to get to this morning and. . .well, not a whole lot of time to get to it. So, I'll remind you once again that these numbers only cover the regular season match-ups between the Washington Redskins and the Minnesota Vikings. And, as always, these numbers come from the folks at Pro Football Reference.

Total Games Between the Vikings and the Redskins: 17

All-Time Record: Redskins, 9-8

Total Vikings Points Scored, Head-to-Head: 417 (24.5 points/game)

Total Redskins Points Scored, Head-to-Head: 372 (21.9 points/game)

Longest Vikings Winning Streak: 2 (4 different occasions)

Longest Redskins Winning Streak: 4 (29 November 1984 - 25 October 1992)

Most Recent Vikings Victory in Minnesota18 October 1998 (Final score 41-7)

Most Recent Redskins Victory in Minnesota23 December 2007 (Final score 32-21)

Biggest Vikings Victory in Minnesota: 34 points, 18 October 1998 (Final score 41-7)

Biggest Redskins Victory in Minnesota: 14 points, 29 November 1984 (Final score 31-17)

And a few other random tidbits of information. . .

-Christian Ponder has faced the Redskins twice in his career, completing 66% of his passes with two touchdown passes and two interceptions.

-Adrian Peterson has also had some mixed results against the Redskins in his career. In four games against Washington, he has carried the ball 44 times for 180 yards and two touchdowns. He also has 12 career receptions against the Redskins, and is averaging nearly 10 yards/catch.

-Greg Jennings has had, basically, no success against Washington. In two career games against the Redskins, he's caught just five passes for 42 yards.
