Here are the ground rules for the Game Threads:

-Thou shalt not link illegal feeds of today's game, or I shall kick thy arse to the curb until the game is over. Do not promote then, do not mention them, do not even hint at them. Thou hast been warned.

-Thou shalt make an attempt to keep the swearing to a minimum. Understandable that it will slip occasionally, but do try to limit it. If you really feel the need to curse, use the spoiler tags to keep it covered up. We'll get the sentiment.

-Thou shalt not feed the trolls. Rather, thou shall simply point them out, and they shall be banished to the fires of Mordor. Or Wisconsin. Whichever we feel is more harsh at the time.

-Thou shalt not engage in racist, sexist, or other such insulting rhetoric. Somebody disagreeing with you does not make them racist or sexist. It means they disagree with you. Talk it out like adults.

-Thou shalt not bait the fans of other teams into trolling.

-Basically, thou shalt not be a jackwagon in the game thread.

Alrighty, folks, we're not far from the Minnesota Vikings and the Washington Redskins kicking things off at the Metrodome for Thursday Night Football. As you can see, the Vikings are the underdog in this one (as I would expect them to be for the rest of the season). What can they do in order to pull off the upset?

1) Keep Robert Griffin III contained - As the Vikings saw first hand last season when these two teams met, RGIII is at his most dangerous when he's on the move. While it's important to get to him and try to put him on the turf, it's also important for the guys on the outside to maintain their containment so that he doesn't take off and kill the Vikings with his legs, too. Hopefully the guys in purple can accomplish that.

2) Try to get the run game going - With as many injuries to starters as the Vikings are dealing with tonight, particularly Kyle Rudolph's broken foot and Phil Loadholt sitting this one out with a concussion, the Vikings already-dicey passing game is going to be even more so. That just means the team needs to make more of an effort to get Adrian Peterson going in order to loosen things up a bit for Christian Ponder and company. If they can't do that, this entire offense is in for a long night.

3) Make the most of your opportunity - Tonight is a big chance for guys like J'Marcus Webb and John Carlson, among others. They're stepping in to take the place of some pretty important parts of the Minnesota roster, and they need to step up and show that they're capable. They're not only playing for playing time this season, they could very well be playing for their jobs next season at this point as well.

We've got a little while before kickoff at the Metrodome, ladies and gentlemen. We hope that you'll be joining us for tonight's contest and that the purple and gold can pull out a victory in this one.

SKOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL VIKINGS!!!!
