Minnesota Vikings News And Links, 12/10

Larry French

Week 14 of the 2013 NFL season is now completely in the books, ladies and gentlemen, and we're moving on to Week 15. The Minnesota Vikings are down to their final two games at the Metrodome, and the first will come this Sunday when they face the Philadelphia Eagles, the team that is currently the leader in the NFC East. We'll have more on this game over the next couple of days.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-The National Football League gave a call. . .unsolicited. . .to Vikings' head coach Leslie Frazier about the officiating in this Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens.

-The Minnesota Vikings have a lot of injury news after this Sunday's contest.

-Some of the good news on the injury front, however, is that the foot injury suffered by star running back Adrian Peterson does not appear to be serious.

-With the Vikings officially eliminated from post-season contention with Sunday's loss, it's time to look to the future.

-Even though the Vikings suffered a tough loss on Sunday, there were some positives that came out of the contest.

From some other places around the internet. . .

-While Peterson's injury isn't serious, the odds are still pretty good that he won't play in Week 15. In a related story, a lot of fantasy football owners are pretty unhappy this week. (I was one of them until I saw that Toby Gerhart was still available in my non-DN league.)

-Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder has passed his concussion tests. I'm thinking Matt Cassel still starts on Sunday, but with this staff, who knows?

-Judd Zulgad of 1500 ESPN thinks it's time for the Vikings to shut down Adrian Peterson. I bet Adrian Peterson disagrees.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've always been, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding of the trolls, and keep the bad language to a minimum/use the spoiler tags if you feel you absolutely must curse.

Here's your video for this Tuesday.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Tuesday, ladies and gentlemen. We'll have more for you later on, so keep your eyes open.
