2014 NFL Draft: SB Nation Mock Brings Johnny Football To Minnesota Vikings

Daniel Shirey-USA TODAY Sports

It's mock draft season, ladies and gentlemen, and our friends at the mothership are no different. They've released their first NFL Mock Draft since the top 20 picks of the draft were finalized. . .and, based on what's been happening in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl this evening, a lot of Minnesota Vikings fans would be pretty happy with this result.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen. . .in this mock draft, the Minnesota Vikings say hello to the man they call Johnny Football, Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel.

Here's their explanation of the pick.

After failing with Matt Cassel, Josh Freeman and Christian Ponder this season, the Vikings need to try for another franchise quarterback in the draft. Manziel is a quarterback who possesses every intangible asset. He's a tough player and widely respected as a team leader. From the intangible and size standpoints, Manziel is Russell Wilson. He's not quite the passer Wilson is at this point, but he can get there. If he does, the Vikings would have a steal with the eighth pick.

In this mock, Manziel is the fourth quarterback off the board. Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater goes to Houston at #1, the Jacksonville Jaguars grab Fresno State signal caller Derek Carr at #3, and the Oakland Raiders go with Central Florida quarterback Blake Bortles at #5.

What say you, fans of the purple and gold? Yea or nay on Johnny Football/Johnny Mondo Delicious/Johnny Ice Cream Man for the Minnesota Vikings?
