The Daily Norseman Mock Draft Database v5.0

New, comments
Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

Again, apologies for being a day later on this than I normally am. There are a couple of pretty interesting changes in this week's version of the Mock Draft Database.

We now have 48 mock drafts in our listing, and we have a new leader in the "most selected" category, as California wide receiver Keenan Allen is being mocked to the Vikings in a whopping 12 of those drafts. Tennessee wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson is now in second, appearing in eight different mocks, while Baylor's Terrance Williams is being projected to Minnesota in 4 different drafts. Nobody else has more than three.

Overall, 17 different players appear in the first round listing of this week's database. Of the 48 drafts we have listed, 31 of them show the Vikings selecting a wide receiver, 13 go with a defensive tackle, 2 have the Vikings taking a cornerback, 1 has the Vikings grabbing a linebacker. . .and, thanks to the folks at Drafttek, we have a new position on the graphs this week, as they have the Vikings selecting Alabama offensive lineman Chance Warmack.

As much as I like Drafttek, I don't think there's any way that Warmack makes it to 23. He might be one of the 5-10 best players in this entire draft. Still, the prospect of a left side of the offensive line consisting of Matt Kalil, Chance Warmack, and John Sullivan for the foreseeable future is an awfully nice one.

While Warmack makes his debut this week, Florida State cornerback Xavier Rhodes drops off the list this week after a one-week cameo appearance. Other players that have appeared in past databases that aren't on this week's list are Southern Cal wide receiver Robert Woods (not in the first round, anyway), Arizona State defensive tackle Will Sutton (who, as was pointed out in the comments of last week's database, didn't actually declare for the draft), Michigan State cornerback Johnny Adams, and Oregon State cornerback Jordan Poyer.

Without any further ado, here is the full database for this week.

And now, on to the pictures. First up, the wonderful and delicious donut graph. Once again, on both this graph and the trend graph, the wide receivers are on there in shades of blue, the defensive tackles in shades of red, the cornerbacks in shades of green, linebackers in orange, and offensive linemen in purple. As always, you can click to embiggen the picture for easier reading.

As I mentioned earlier, there's a whole lot of blue on these charts relative to everything else.

Now on to the trend chart, where you can really see Keenan Allen's jump up this week from past weeks. Once again, click to embiggen.

So there you have it, folks. . .the fifth installment of the 2013 Daily Norseman Mock Draft Database. We'll have the next installment for you again on Saturday, time (and health) permitting.
