It's the first day of the 2013 off-season, folks, with Super Bowl XLVII having been played last night. The game went from snoozer to classic quicker than you can turn the lights on. (What I did there, did you see it?) In the end, the Baltimore Ravens' early cushion turned out to be too much for the San Francisco 49ers, as they went on to win their second Super Bowl title, 34-31. Congratulations to the Ravens and our friends over at Baltimore Beatdown. . .a team that the Vikings will pay a visit to during the 2013 NFL season.
As far as the rest of the weekend, it was fairly uneventful if you don't count Cris Carter making it into the Hall of Fame and Adrian Peterson cleaning up at the NFL Honors, including being named the NFL's Most Valuable Player. (And me being wrong on both counts.)
With that, here's your Open Thread for the first day without meaningful football until September. The rules are the same as always. . .no religion, no politics, keep the language relatively clean. Per a suggestion in last Friday's thread, your ambient music this week will be provided by artists either from or associated with the Twin Cities. For today, our music is going to take us to a special place. . .
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for Monday, ladies and gentlemen. We'll have some more stuff for you over the course of the day, including any breaking news that might come across.
