The Daily Norseman Mock Draft Database, v10.0

We're into double figures as far as versions of our Mock Draft Database go. Last week, I said I wanted to add more drafts to the database and. . .well, that's what I've done. We've jumped from 35 mocks last week to 56 in this week's installment, and we're seeing some interesting things.

To change things up a little bit, I've put the mocks from various SB Nation sites in bold in order to sort of make them stand out from the rest of the mocks. We'll discuss the trends after we take a look at the database, which you can see below.

So, that's what we've got for players. So, what do the stats look like for this week?

Well, as you've probably guessed, Cal wide receiver Keenan Allen is still on top of the board this week. Out of the 112 potential picks that the Minnesota Vikings have in these mock drafts, Allen is tabbed by our favorite football team in 23 of them. That's nearly double the total of the player with the next-highest number of picks, West Virginia wide receiver Tavon Austin. North Carolina defensive tackle Sylvester Williams is the only other player that reaches double figures, as he is selected 11 times.

We have some players making their debuts this week. Evan Silva of Rotoworld is the recipient of this week's "This Guy Must Want To See My Head Blow Up" Award, thanks to him mocking USC quarterback Matt Barkley to the Vikings with the second of their two first-rounders. Also appearing for the first time this week are North Carolina guard Jonathan Cooper, Florida State defensive end Cornelius "Tank" Carradine, and Florida International safety Jonathan Cyprien.

Only one player drops out of this week's database after being in last week, that being Auburn defensive end Corey Lemonier.

As far as the different positions are concerned, wide receiver is still leading the charge (thanks to Allen and Austin) with 51 of the 112 first-round selections for our favorite football team (45.5%). Defensive tackle still sits in second place with 25 selections (22.3%), and linebacker is close behind with 18 selections (16.1%). The defensive backs (where I included Cyprien along with the various corners) account for 10 selections (8.9%), and defensive ends appear six times (5.4%). At the bottom of the list in this week's database are quarterback and offensive line, each of which appears just once (0.9% each).
