Hey diddily ho, neighborinos! We've made it to the start of another week here at The Daily Norseman, and we have your Open Thread for this Monday right here.
Here's what we've had for you since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .
-Kyle had this outstanding interview with Minnesota Vikings legend Carl Eller. If you haven't read it already, seriously. . .what are you waiting for?
-We told you how you could spend a day with Chris Kluwe (if you have a lot of extra cash burning a hole in your pocket)
-We took a look at where the Vikings currently stand in relation to the 2013 NFL salary cap
-We got a little mock draft crazy, as Ted put up his second Vikings-only draft, I cobbled one together for the whole NFL, and of course the latest installment of our Mock Draft Database
-Ted also has an idea of what the Vikings should do when free agency kicks off in eight days
-And we looked at whether or not the Vikings would use the franchise tag on tackle Phil Loadholt. . .probably not
I really haven't seen a whole lot else in terms of news from around the interwebs over the past couple of days. If you've seen anything, feel free to share it in the comments section.
For your ambient music, we're going to go with television theme songs this week. There are so many good ones from over the years, so this is one that we're probably going to end up doing more than once (much like Weird Al weeks). Today, one from a television show that was pretty far ahead of its time as far as writing and humor are concerned.
Yes, Police Squad did go on to become the Naked Gun series of movies, which were awesome in their own right. However, the television show only lasted six episodes and never really got off the ground, which is a shame. I believe that all six of the original episodes are on YouTube if you're ever in the mood to watch them.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for Monday, everybody. As always, no politics, no religion, and not too much bad language. If we have any new, exciting, or breaking news for you, we'll have it up here for you straight away.
