Madden Cover Vote: Peterson Reaches Final Four

USA TODAY Sports

The vote to see which athlete will grace the cover of Madden NFL 25 has reached the final four, with the final match-ups in both the "New School" and the "Old School" brackets having been announced today.

On the "New School" side, Minnesota Vikings' running back Adrian Peterson advanced once again, this time with a surprisingly easy victory over Washington Redskins' quarterback Robert Griffin III. Peterson won the match-up by a score of 70% to 30%, the largest margin of victory of any of the match-ups of the round of eight.

In the finals of the "New School" side, Peterson will do battle with Houston Texans' running back Arian Foster, who knocked off Seattle Seahawks' quarterback Russell Wilson by a tally of 52% to 48%.

Over on the "Old School" side, I was incorrect in my prediction of a Joe Montana vs. Jerry Rice final. Rice held up his end of the bargain, defeating Deion Sanders by a score of 60% to 40% to move to the "Old School" finals. However, Montana did not, as he was defeated by Barry Sanders, 57% to 43%.

People have hinted about the possibility of a "dual cover" that features both Peterson and Sanders, which I think would be pretty cool to see. If you want to vote for the National Football League's best player, or if you want to try to help him avoid the "Madden Curse," you can find the voting right here.
