The Daily Norseman Mock Draft Database, Final Version

Here we are, ladies and gentlemen. . .the final installment of The Daily Norseman's 2013 Mock Draft Database. This time around, for the big finish, we have a whopping one hundred mock drafts gathered up for your viewing and comparison pleasure. You would think that would give us an even two hundred picks to look at as far as who's going where in the first round. . .

But you'd be wrong.

Because of a few folks that projected trades, there are actually only 197 picks for us to look at in the first round rather than 200. The folks from Cincy Jungle have us trading down from 23 to 31 with the San Francisco 49ers, and keeping our pick at 25. So, for that particular draft, the pick labeled 23 was actually made at 25, and the pick labeled 25 was actually made at 31.

The three other drafts where you see "PICK TRADED" didn't actually bother to detail what the Vikings got in return for their selection, just that someone else traded up to that spot. Hence the odd number of selections. So, without any further ado, here is your final list of drafts in the database.

Amazing how much cleaner the table looks when you realize you can paste it into a Word document and then paste it straight into the editor. To paraphrase noted American philosopher Adam Sandler, that's information that would have been useful three months ago. But I digress.

In our final draft, the man that is absolutely destroying the field is Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o, who was tabbed in 45 of the database's 197 selections this time around. Now the rumors are coming out that the Vikings might actually trade up to make Te'o a Viking. I think I might need a drink that's slightly stiffer than orange juice.

Next in line was North Carolina defensive tackle Sylvester Williams, who was selected 28 times during this go-around. California wide receiver Keenan Allen, who dominated our numbers for weeks, not only isn't at the top any more. . .he isn't even the most selected receiver. He's not even the second-most selected receiver, as his 10 selections put him behind Tennessee teammates Cordarrelle Patterson (17) and Justin Hunter (13). Allen has also fallen behind Washington cornerback Desmont Trufant, who is fourth overall this week with 14 selections.

Two players made their debut in the database this week, both of them defensive backs. Florida safety Matt Elam was taken twice, as did Houston cornerback D.J. Hayden. Reappearing in the database this week was Florida Atlantic safety Jonathan Cyprien. Dropping out this week after having been in last week were Texas safety Kenny Vaccaro and (mercifully) USC quarterback Matt Barkley.

Thanks largely to Te'o surging up the board, the linebacker position caught the wide receivers for the most selected, as they were both grabbed with 59 of the 197 picks this week (29.9% each). The defensive tackles finished in third this time around with 40 selections (20.3%). Defensive backs were taken 25 times in this final database (12.7%), with defensive ends coming in fifth with 14 picks (7.1%). Neither offensive linemen nor quarterbacks found their way into the final installment of the Mock Draft Database for 2013.

Overall, in the 13 installments of this database that we've put together, 40 different players were mocked to the Minnesota Vikings in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Will the Vikings follow with any of the trends we've seen thus far, whether they're based on players or positions?

We only have to wait about eight more hours to find out.
