Minnesota Vikings News And Links, 4/26

USA TODAY Sports

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen! The first round of the 2013 NFL Draft is in the books, and it certainly was an eventful one for those of us that cheer for the Minnesota Vikings.

Pretty much every story we did yesterday found its way into the Draft Central stream that's pinned to the top of the page for the rest of the week, so head on over there if you missed anything from Thursday's action at Radio City Music Hall.

From other places around the interwebs. . .

-Dan Wiederer recaps yesterday's events for the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. He also has a look at how the Vikings pulled off their "triple play" of first round selections.

-Jim Souhan points out. . .accurately. . .that Rick Spielman has gotten pretty good at this whole drafting thing.

-Ben Goessling of the St. Paul Pioneer Press also recaps yesterday's action.

-MOAR RECAPS, this one from Tom Pelissero.

There are also numerous places around the internet doing draft grades and stuff already. Anyone that's followed the site for any length of time knows that I absolutely detest grading a draft right after it's finished (and, in this case, before it's finished), but they're not hard to find if you're into that sort of thing.

You may have liked what the Vikings did yesterday, or you may not have liked it very much. But, through our last bit of ambient music for this week, I simply ask all of you to do one thing.

Come on. . .you didn't really think I was going to go through a whole week of Journey tunes without busting that one out, did you?

Rules for the Open Thread are the same as they've ever been, folks. No politics, no religion, and keep the bad stuff toned down.

We're going to have an Open Thread for Day Two of the 2013 NFL Draft popping up at around 4 PM Central time, as the action resumes from New York at 5:30 PM Central. It might be a bit of a dull day for us, but we can still keep tabs on the action. Enjoy the rest of your Friday, folks!
