2013 NFL Draft: Minnesota Vikings Select Jeff Locke

Christian Petersen

With the 155th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings have selected punter Jeff Locke out of UCLA .

Well, the Vikings managed to get themselves a punter. . .ironically enough from the same alma mater as their current punter.

Jeff Locke averaged a net of 42.2 yards/punt this past season for the Bruins, which was among the best in the nation. He's also left-footed, which could add a different dynamic to things.

This is a lot like what we saw happen last season, when the Vikings drafted kicker Blair Walsh in the sixth round, and soon thereafter released incumbent Ryan Longwell. Could we be seeing the same thing with punter Chris Kluwe?

Intrigue, ladies and gentlemen. . .we have it.

The Vikings have a sixth-round selection coming up at 189 overall. Be sure to keep it tuned right here to see what they do with it!
