With the 196th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings have selected guard Jeff Baca out of UCLA.
This gives the Vikings a second straight player out of UCLA. He has your typical guard size, measuring in at 6'3" and a shade over 300 pounds. He was also a second-team All-Pac 12 selection in 2012. He played his junior year at the weak-side tackle spot, but moved to strong-side guard as a senior, a position to which he was apparently better suited.
We'll have more about Baca as the afternoon goes along. From here, it appears that we're going to be moving on to the seventh round of the draft, where the Vikings once again have three selections. . .#213, #214, and #229, the last of which they've just re-acquired.
