Minnesota Vikings News And Links, 4/29

USA TODAY Sports

We are back for another work week, ladies and gentlemen, starting with your Monday Open Thread. The rules for the Open Thread are the same as ever. . .no politics, no religion, and no bad language.

We have to start out with a belated congratulations to our own Eric Thompson and his wife Carolyn, who are now the proud parents of a baby girl. Gemma Adrian Thompson was kind enough to come into the world in time to watch the NFL Draft with her dad on Thursday, which is nice.

(And, yes, the middle name is based on exactly who you think it's based on.)

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-So, hey, the 2013 NFL Draft is over with.

-Mark has done his review of this year's Minnesota Vikings draft class, complete with grades. (SPOILER: He's not a big fan of the fifth-round selection.)

-Not to be outdone, Ted has filed a post-draft edition of the Stock Market Report, with 100% more Don Glover than all of our other draft columns combined.

-The Vikings can't be accused of not doing their due diligence when it comes to new wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson.

-We thought that the Vikings were going to sign Cris Carter's son, Duron, to a deal as an undrafted free agent. Turns out he's just being invited to next week's rookie camp.

-And we invited you to put a grade on this weekend's draft, because I don't like doing draft grades.

We'll go around the interwebs starting with tomorrow's Open Thread. Basically all anyone's talking about is the draft anyway, and hey. . .we've got pretty much everything you need on that front right here.

Potential was the name of the game this past weekend at the NFL Draft, and it's the name of the game for this week's ambient music as well.

ABBA? You damn right. (Not the poster, the band.)

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for Monday, ladies and gentlemen. We'll have more good stuff for you throughout the course of the day today.
