The Daily Norseman Mock Draft Database, v11.0

It's Saturday again, everybody, and that means it's time for the latest installment of The Daily Norseman's Mock Draft Database. Let's take a look at what everyone across these great interwebs of ours is projecting for the Minnesota Vikings this week.

Here is this week's table, which is up to 68 mock drafts, meaning the graphs later are going to be taking a total of 136 selections into account for the first round.

Once again, California wide receiver Keenan Allen is on top of the board with 24 selections in 136 picks, but his lead is nowhere near as dominant as it once was. In fact, Allen is now just four picks ahead of the man in second place, North Carolina defensive tackle Sylvester Williams. His name appeared 20 times in this week's installment of the database, pushing him into a solid second place.

And, yes, love it or hate it, the "Manti Te'o to Minnesota" train is really starting to pick up steam. The Notre Dame middle linebacker is in third place on this week's chart with 13 selections, narrowly edging out West Virginia wide receiver Tavon Austin, who was picked 11 times. A couple of wide receivers are in a tie to round out the top five (well, six, thanks to the tie) as Clemson's DeAndre Hopkins and Tennessee's Cordarrelle Patterson each appear nine times in this week's database.

We have two new names in this week's table. Those names are Southern Methodist defensive end Margus Hunt, and Georgia linebacker Jarvis Jones. Jones was, at one point, a sure-fire top ten pick until questions about a neck injury started to surface. That's pushed him down the board as we get closer to draft day.

Re-appearing in this week's database after a two-week absence is Utah defensive tackle Star Lotulelei, who has apparently been given a clean bill of health after a heart scare around the time of the NFL Scouting Combine.

Dropping out of the database this week are North Carolina guard Jonathan Cooper and Florida State defensive end Cornelius Carradine, both of whom had one-week cameos in last week's edition of the database.

Of the 136 selections this week, the wide receivers are still the dominant force, having been selected 57 times (41.9%) in those selections. Defensive tackle is in a solid second place, with 35 selections (25.7%). Linebacker remains in third place this week with 22 selections (16.2%), while the defensive backs sit in the fourth spot with 14 picks (10.3%). The defensive end position is next in line with 6 selections (4.4%), while quarterback brings up the rear with two picks (1.5%). Offensive line is not represented in the first round in this week's database.
