Minnesota Vikings News And Links, 5/15

USA TODAY Sports

If you're reading this, it means that either a) we've managed to sneak this in between site issues or b) the issues have been solved. Either way, welcome to the mid point of the month of May, ladies and gentlemen! After the excitement that came with the announcement of the new Minnesota Vikings stadium, things have slowed down a bit. but there are still some things to report.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-The Vikings have started signing draft picks, inking linebackers Gerald Hodges and Michael Mauti to deals on Tuesday, along with defensive tackle Everett Dawkins.

-Kyle mused that while signing linebacker Brian Urlacher might be fun. . .at least for a little while. . .it probably isn't going to happen.

From other outposts across the internet. . .

-When it comes to the new stadium, apparently everyone's a critic.

-On the other hand, Bud Grant thinks the stadium is pretty awesome. Good enough for me.

-Along with the stadium, there's a proposed $400 million development being pitched for near the new digs.

-Speaking of Urlacher, depending on your source, he's either close to signing with the Vikings. . .or he's not. Glad we could clear that up.

The rules for the Open Thread are the same as they ever were. . .no religion, no politics, and keep the bad language to a minimum.

Moving on to our ambient music for the day, and keeping with our theme of the week, a little tune that starts out with a message that the Vikings might find themselves saying to numerous opponents in 2013.

Indeed, posteriors may need to be spoken with on more than one occasion this coming NFL season.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for Wednesday, Vikings fans. Feel free to talk about whatever it is you'd like, and we'll be back throughout the day with some more stuff for your reading pleasure.
