Minnesota Vikings News And Links, 5/16

Okay, I'm pretty sure that all of the site access issues have been resolved by this point. The awesome team of tech guys that we have at Vox Media/SB Nation worked their tails off to get everything fixed behind the scenes, so hopefully everything will stick and there won't be any issues going forward.

So, this is your Open Thread for Thursday to talk about whatever subjects you'd like with your fellow fans of the Minnesota Vikings. The usual rules apply. . .no politics, no religion, and keep the language toned down.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-The Vikings signed three more members of their 2013 draft class, meaning that six of their nine selections are officially under contract.

-The team expressed some interest in former University of Nevada-Reno head coach Chris Ault, the architect of the Pistol offense.

-Ted let us know that the team is officially moving Joe Webb to the wide receiver position.

From some other outposts around the internet. . .

-Kevin Seifert of ESPN takes a look at Joe Webb's position switch.

-Our friends over at The Daily Gopher take a look at the new stadium from the perspective of Golden Gopher baseball.

-According to coach Leslie Frazier, the Vikings are not pursuing linebacker Brian Urlacher at this time. (In keeping with what the team has said this off-season compared to what's actually happened, expect Urlacher to sign before the week is out.)

-Whether the Vikings are pursuing Urlacher or not, the rumors alone are enough to make Erin Henderson a bit cross.

-Former Vikings defensive end Ray Edwards says that boxing is safer than football. Well, sure, if you do the kind of boxing that Edwards does. . .you know, the kind that involves not actually hitting anybody.

Your ambient music for today, ladies and gentlemen, as our theme for the week continues.

AUSTIN! AUSTIN! STONE COLD! STONE COLD!

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for Thursday, ladies and gentlemen. We will effort to have more for you as the day continues, so keep your eyes open.
