Minnesota Vikings News And Links, 5/17

USA TODAY Sports

Apologies for being a bit later than usual with today's Open Thread, ladies and gentlemen. The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've always been. . .no politics, no religion, and keep the bad language and questionable content to a minimum.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-Courtesy of our Vox Media compatriots at Polygon, we tipped you to a pretty sweet deal on the new Madden game and NFL Sunday Ticket.

-Arif put together an amazing piece about whether or not the Vikings should switch to a "Wide 9" scheme on defense.

-We let you know that Chad Greenway made this year's Top 100 list from the NFL Network.

From some other outposts around the internet. . .

-Looks like there's a new plan for funding the Vikings' stadium after all. (We might talk at length about this later.)

-Chris Kluwe is officially back in the game, signing a one-year deal with the Oakland Raiders.

-Randy Moss appears to be unsure about whether he'll play in 2013. (No, he's not coming here.)

Here's your capper for this edition of wrestling themes week for our Open Thread ambient music. Like other themes, this one will more than likely be repeated in the future.

If anyone needs us, we'll be over here training, saying our prayers, and taking our vitamins.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for Friday, everybody. We will effort to bring you more news and perspective on our favorite football team throughout the course of the day and on through the weekend.
