Vikings Sign Keith, Release Edwards

Christian Petersen

We've already made you aware of a couple of roster moves that the Minnesota Vikings made on Monday, with the release of punter Chris Kluwe and the signing of wide receiver Adam Thielen. However, that was not the only move the team made.

The Vikings signed free agent offensive tackle Brandon Keith on Monday after he passed his physical. Keith, a 6'5", 335-pound tackle, was selected by the Cardinals in the seventh round (225th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft out of the University of Northern Iowa. He didn't see the field for the Cardinals in 2008, and played just four games for them in 2009. However, between the 2010 and 2011 seasons, he started 20 of the 22 games he appeared in for the Cardinals, all of them at the right tackle position.

Keith was out of the National Football League in 2012.

To keep themselves at the 90-man roster limit, the team released receiver Nicholas Edwards, one of the undrafted free agents the team signed after the draft out of Eastern Washington.
