Over the course of the past couple of weeks, we've noticed an uptick in the number of people that have expressed the desire to write for us, both through our website and through our FaceBook page. While we appreciate the sentiment and the expressed admiration for the site and everything. . .well, look at the picture at the top of the article.
I'm not attempting to sound elitist or anything when I say that. Seriously, I'm not. I do, however, want to point out a common trend about how our front page writers got to where they are.
We currently have seven people that are classed as front page writers here at DN. . .Ted, Eric, Kyle, Skol Girl, Mark, Arif, and myself. Of those seven people, six got to where they are via community participation. That is to say that they posted FanShots, got into the comments and things of that nature. (The only one that didn't get there via that route is me because. . .well, because I was here before everyone else.)
That's the quickest way into our hearts, to be honest. I guess you could say we sort of like to promote from within before going outside of the "family" to bring in new talent.
So, if you really want to potentially find yourself regularly posting to the front page of The Daily Norseman, sign up for an account, wait for your account to become active (a necessary evil to keep the trolls, spam bots, and other undesirables away), and start posting.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled Minnesota Vikings news.
