Arrest Warrant Issued For Patriots TE Hernandez?

USA TODAY Sports

Yes, it's not a Vikings story, but it is the story in the National Football League at the moment, from the looks of things.

Per numerous sources, an arrest warrant has been issued for New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez. As it stands right now, he is charged with obstruction of justice.

The charge stems from Hernandez's involvement in a homicide investigation.

Hernandez, 23, has been at the center of the investigation since the body of Lloyd, a 27-year-old semi-pro football player, was found shot in the back of the head Monday in an industrial park near Hernandez's home in North Attleborough.

Hernandez has not been ruled out as a suspect in the murder, law enforcement sources told ABC earlier Thursday.

Police also want to know why a team of house cleaners was hired on Monday to scrub Hernandez's mansion, sources told ABC News.

It came out yesterday that not only had Hernandez (or somebody else) "destroyed" the home security system in the Hernandez house, but when investigators asked for his cell phone, it was given to them "in pieces."

Yipe.

Now, like any American, Hernandez is innocent until somebody proves that he's not. But on the surface, it certainly doesn't look promising for him at this point.

If you want to discuss the case or what's going on with it, feel free to do so here.

EDIT: The Boston Globe has just put this out on the Twitter.

Well, this just keeps getting curiouser and curiouser.
