Minnesota Vikings News And Links, 6/25

USA TODAY Sports

We are back for another day of Minnesota Vikings football coverage for all of you fine, outstanding readers to enjoy. Hopefully your Tuesday has gotten off to a decent start and we can keep that going for you.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-The big news from yesterday was linebacker Desmond Bishop choosing to sign a one-year deal with our favorite football team. We'll likely have some more on this for you later on today.

-Also, we kicked off the Greatest Viking Of All Time Tournament with our first match-up, pitting Randy Moss against Paul Allen. (You still have about an hour if you want to vote, but it's really one-sided.)

-We also announced that, starting on Wednesday, we'd go with two tournament match-ups a day until we completed the first round.

From some other outposts around the internet. . .

-The forgotten quarterback in Minnesota, rookie James Vandenberg, hopes to make an impression with Training Camp coming up. (Hey, why not give him a shot? He was great in Varsity Blues.)

-The Vikings have announced a "Back to Football" run for Opening Day, September 21, that will go from Target Field to the Metrodome. At least they didn't call it a "fun run."

-The hit-and-run conviction of Amy Senser, wife of former Vikings' tight end Joe Senser, was upheld on appeal yesterday.

The rules for the Open Thread are the same as always, folks. . .no politics, no religion, no bad language, and no feeding of the trolls.

Here's your ambient music for today.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for Tuesday, ladies and gentlemen. Be on the lookout for our next tournament match-up in about an hour, and enjoy the rest of your day!
