In our second match-up of the first round of our Greatest Viking Of All Time Tournament, it was proven once again that slow and steady tends to win the race.
The final tally was closer than it was in the match-up between Randy Moss and Paul Allen. . .not that that's saying a whole lot. . .but in the end, safety Joey Browner scored a decisive victory over quarterback Randall Cunningham in their first-round match-up. The final tally wound up being 222 "recs" for Browner and 34 "recs" for Cunningham. Again, the result wasn't a terribly surprising one, as Browner had plenty of support during the nomination process as well.
Browner moves on to the second round of our tournament, where he will face the winner of the match-up between one of the Purple People Eaters in defensive end Carl Eller and a member of "Three Deep" in receiver Jake Reed.
Keep your eye on our site here for more match-ups as we effort to determine the Greatest Viking Of All Time!
