Minnesota Vikings News And Links, 6/27

USA TODAY Sports

We're rapidly approaching the end of another week, everybody. We currently sit less than a month out from the start of Training Camp in Mankato, and we're doing everything we can to give you your fill of Minnesota Vikings coverage until that time comes around.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-Arif took a look at the newly-acquired Desmond Bishop and how he might fit in with the Vikings' defense.

-We launched two more match-ups in our Greatest Viking Of All Time Tournament, as we has Fran Tarkenton taking on Tim Irwin as well as Joe Kapp battling Zygi Wilf.

-In case you missed it, Joey Browner won his tournament match-up over Randall Cunningham.

-We acknowledged the work of Tom Pelissero, who is moving on from 1500 ESPN in the Twin Cities to take a job with USA Today.

-Also, if you want the latest updates on the Aaron Hernandez saga, here's the stream that the folks at Pats Pulpit have running on the topic.

From some other places around the internet. . .

-In ESPN's look at who the best players in 2016 might be, Kyle Rudolph rates as the #2 tight end.

-Offensive tackle Phil Loadholt will be holding a football camp in his home town in Colorado.

-The Gage Towers, where the Vikings' players used to stay during Training Camp in Mankato, are set to be blown up on Saturday.

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as always, folks. . .no politics, no religion, keep the bad language to a minimum, and don't feed the trolls.

Here is your ambient music selection for the day.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for Thursday, ladies and gentlemen! Keep an eye out for a couple more tournament match-ups coming in about an hour, and enjoy the rest of your day!
