Greatest Viking Of All Time Tournament: Zygi Wilf Advances

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

Well, folks, we have the first upset of our Greatest Viking Of All Time Tournament. It's a mild upset but, based on the seedings, it is an upset none the less.

Zygi Wilf, the current owner of the Minnesota Vikings, got the better of former quarterback Joe Kapp in their first round match-up. It was the closest vote we've seen thus far in the tournament, with Wilf receiving 133 "recs" and Kapp receiving 94 "recs." A lot of folks that were involved in the debate said that they admired Joe Kapp's toughness, but in the end the man who kept football in Minnesota for what should be the better part of the rest of our lifetimes got the victory.

Wilf moves on to the second round of our tournament, where he will take on the winner of the match-up between Adrian Peterson and play-in game winner Ed Sharockman. (Yeah, I know.)

Keep an eye out for more match-ups as we attempt to determine who really is the Greatest Viking Of All Time!
