Minnesota Vikings News And Links, 6/3

USA TODAY Sports

It's our first Open Thread for the month of June, ladies and gentlemen! We're getting closer to Training Camp. . .but we're still not close enough for my liking. But, we will make it through this together, and before you know it, it's going to be time for Minnesota Vikings football.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-Ted. . .who may or may not also be the Athletic Director at Ohio State. . .asked us what one moment in Vikings' history we would change if we could.

-A media institution has closed its doors, as Pro Football Weekly is no more.

-The regular season finale for the Vikings this year was named the third-best game of 2012 by NFL.com (and the best of the regular season).

-Pete Prisco of CBS did. . .something. . .and the result is that he doesn't think the Minnesota Vikings are very good.

From some other outposts around the internet. . .

-Much like Stella found her groove, apparently Christian Ponder "has his throw back."

-Adrian Peterson wants to become a bigger part of the passing game in Minnesota. (The hyperlink for the article is kind of unfortunate.)

-Could Fred Evans be the Vikings' starting nose tackle this year?

Once again, the same set of rules apply here as they do in every Open Thread. . .no religion, no politics, no bad language, and no feeding of the trolls.

For this week's ambient music, we're going to do "cover" songs. As a bonus, I'll toss out both the original version and the "cover" for everyone's listening enjoyment. We'll start with one that a lot of people mentioned on Friday.

That's the original. And now, for the cover version.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for this Monday, ladies and gentlemen. Keep it tuned right here (if you're not following us on Twitter or FaceBook or anything) and we'll have some more stuff for you as the day goes on.
