The second of the Vikings' three Organized Team Activity sessions gets underway today at Winter Park. During last week's session, every single member of the Minnesota Vikings was in attendance except for one. That one, however, was a pretty big one. . .defensive end Jared Allen, who is still recovering from the various surgeries that he had following last season. Plus, he's never really been much of an attendee at the voluntary workouts before, choosing instead to work out on his own.
Well, the Vikings will have full attendance this time around, as Allen will be in the Great White North when the Vikings take the field today. With a cap figure of $17 million in this, the final year of his deal, it's looking more and more likely that this is going to be the mulleted one's last season in purple, and it looks like he wants to go out with a bang.
The Vikings are also expecting some more work out of newly acquired receiver Greg Jennings this week. Jennings sat out most of last week's activities after tweaking an ankle, but sitting him out was really nothing more than a precautionary measure.
The third set of Organized Team Activities for the Vikings will take place starting next Monday, June 10, and running through June 13. The team will have their one mandatory mini-camp from June 18 to June 20, and then Training Camp will (mercifully) kick off on July 25.
