We're nearly to the end of another week, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for, once again, making us a part of your daily Minnesota Vikings reading routine.
Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .
-Kyle elaborated on why putting an NFL team in the United Kingdom full-time would be a bad idea.
-Coach Jeff George. Yeah, still sounds weird.
-Lindy's Pro Football Preview is out, and they see the Vikings as improved. . .but not quite improved enough.
From other outposts around the interwebs. . .
-Coach Leslie Frazier apparently expects big things this year from defensive end Brian Robison.
-The St. Paul Pioneer Press tells us that backup quarterback Matt Cassel is starting from scratch in Minnesota.
-Newly acquired cornerback Jacob Lacey had surgery on a thumb he dislocated during OTAs and will be out indefinitely.
Also, if you're a fan of the Minnesota Twins, keep an eye on our friends over at Twinkie Town, who will no doubt be keeping tabs on today's Major League Baseball draft, particularly as it relates to the local ball club. Yeah, it doesn't have quite the fanfare of the NFL Draft, but it's still pretty good stuff.
The rules of the Open Thread are the same as always, everybody. No politics, no religion, no bad language, and don't feed the trolls.
We continue our look through the world of cover songs with today's tunes. This one might skew a little older (cue the GATES IS OLD jokes), but it's another case of both versions of the song being pretty damn good. Here's the original.
Because, seriously, you really can't go wrong with Bowie.
And now the cover from what's probably the best episode of Unplugged that MTV ever did.
I'm sure everyone in my age group has heard the Nirvana: Unplugged album. If you haven't, you should make an effort to track it down somewhere.
With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for Thursday, everybody! Enjoy your day, and we'll effort to have some more good stuff for you here as the day goes on.
