Minnesota Vikings News And Links, 7/11

USA TODAY Sports

Good morning once again, ladies and gentlemen! It's Thursday here in Vikings country, and the Minnesota Vikings will be reporting to Training Camp in just two weeks, with the actual camp getting underway two weeks from tomorrow. Our long national nightmare is, finally, almost over.

Since the last time we brought you an Open Thread. . .

-The Greatest Viking Of All Time Tournament continued, with two more match-ups for you to vote on (Gary Zimmerman vs Anthony Carter and Gary Anderson vs Matt Blair) along with Jim Marshall and Keith Millard moving on. The last two first round match-ups will be going up at 8 AM. I'd like to think I saved two pretty compelling match-ups until the very end, but I guess you folks will be the judge of that.

-We took a look at some of the players that gave the Vikings the most trouble over the years.

-And we gave you some pretty big news about our Training Camp coverage for this season.

Not a whole lot around the rest of the interwebs. . .

-The same folks that will be building the Vikings' new stadium will also be responsible for upgrading TCF Bank Stadium for the team.

-SI.com has their NFC North preview up.

-Former Vikings fullback Tony Richardson is going to be inducted into the Wiregrass Sports Hall of Fame. (Spent about 18 months stationed in that area, once. . .pretty sure Ted did, too.)

The rules for the Open Thread are the same as ever, ladies and gentlemen. . .no politics, no religion, no feeding the trolls, and keep the bad language to a minimum/use the spoiler tags if you're going to curse.

Muppet week continues for our ambient music with one of my personal favorites.

With that, the beer light is on. . .I'll have what he's having. . .and the bar is open for this Thursday, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day, and if anything breaks we'll have it for you.
