Greatest Viking Of All Time Tournament: Adrian Peterson Advances

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sport

Zygi Wilf has a ton of money, and it could quite easily be argued that he saved professional football in the state of Minnesota. However, there wasn't anything that was going to save him from the whooping that he took in the second round of our Greatest Viking Of All Time Tournament.

Adrian Peterson, our overall top seed, easily advanced past the man that signs his paychecks to move to the Sweet 16 in our tournament. When everything was finally tallied, the reigning MVP got a total of 226 "recs" from our readers, while the Vikings' current owner could manage only 3 "recs." As we've said previously, there's a reason that Peterson is the top seed in this tournament.

It's guaranteed that Peterson will take on another running back in the next round, as he will be facing the winner of the match-up between Chuck Foreman and Robert Smith in the Sweet 16. That match-up will take place on Tuesday, July 23.

We're into the second round in our tournament, folks. . .keep your eyes out for more match-ups to debate and vote in!
