Greatest Viking Of All Time Tournament: (2) Randy Moss vs (10) Ahmad Rashad

We move forth in the second round of our Greatest Viking Of All Time Tournament, folks! In this match-up, two outstanding wide receivers from two different era battle head-to-head for the right to advance.

Randy Moss

Alma Mater: Marshall University
Acquired by Vikings: Round 1, 1998 NFL Draft
Seasons in Minnesota: 7-ish (1998-2004, plus four games in 2010)
Position: Wide receiver
How He Got Here: Defeated Paul Allen 232-22 in Round 1

What can be said about Randy Moss? From his slide down the draft board into Minnesota's lap in 1998 to pairing with Cris Carter as one of the best 1-2 punches in the history of the game, Moss made every game the Vikings played during his tenure a "must-watch." A lot of his detractors will remember him more for his off-field headlines, but he did a lot of great stuff off the field that never got reported. On the field, however, he really had no peer during his heyday.

Warning, the songs in the video there have some naughty words.

Ahmad Rashad

Alma Mater: University of Oregon
Acquired by Vikings: Trade with Seattle Seahawks prior to 1976 season
Seasons in Minnesota: 7 (1976-1982)
Position: Wide receiver
How He Got Here: Defeated Chad Greenway 121-89 in Round 1

Hey, guys go from Seattle to Minnesota, too, apparently! Rashad is another guy whose name probably doesn't come up often enough in the pantheon of great Vikings receivers. He caught an even 400 passes in purple, putting together back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in 1979 and 1980. He's sixth in team history in receptions and seventh in yards with 5,489. He was a four-time Pro Bowl selection, winning the MVP award in the 1978 edition of the game. And, as mentioned, he caught what is possibly the most famous pass in team history.
