Mick Tingelhoff put together a very impressive resume during his tenure as a member of the Minnesota Vikings. Unfortunately for him, in our Greatest Viking Of All Time Tournament, he ran into one of the few men that can honestly say his career can trump it.
Alan Page moved on to our Sweet 16 in relatively easy fashion, taking down Tingelhoff in their second round match-up. When the final numbers were figured out, Page had gotten 166 "recs" from our readers, while Tingelhoff came out with a total of 10 "recs." Page is, quite possibly, the best defender in Minnesota Vikings history, and so his moving on shouldn't come as a huge surprise.
Page will be taking on an offensive lineman in his Sweet 16 match-up, as he will take on the winner of next round's battle between Randall McDaniel and Ron Yary. That match-up is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 24.
Thank you to all of you that voted in this match-up, and for participating in our tournament thus far. We certainly hope that you've enjoyed it.
