Minnesota Vikings News And Links, 7/22

Yes, our favorite football team will be practicing in Mankato starting this Friday, ladies and gentlemen. After all this time and all this waiting since last January. . .soon there will be actual, honest-to-goodness Minnesota Vikings football to talk about. How awesome is that, huh?

We had a couple of stories for your reading pleasure this weekend. . .

-We took a look at one of the projections for the 2013 Minnesota Vikings and why it proves that, in the NFL, you just never know.

-Arif and Dusty put up the second half of the first ever Norse Code podcast, where they drew some conclusions about quarterback Christian Ponder.

-We looked at a couple of Vikings contracts, courtesy of the folks from Over the Cap.

From some other places around the internet. . .

-The folks from The Viking Age have a great look at what Greg Jennings has done for this team thus far.

-Pacifist Viking over at Kick-Ass Blog has a look at a way to construct your Fantasy Football team.

-The St. Paul Pioneer Press goes over a few Training Camp storylines.

-The Dallas Morning News talks to running back/cyborg Adrian Peterson.

-The Minneapolis Star-Tribune takes a look at rookie Sharrif Floyd's "survival instinct."

The rules of the Open Thread are the same as they've always been ladies and gentlemen. No politics, no religion, no feeding the trolls, and keep the bad language to a minimum/use the spoiler tags if you're going to curse.

Had a bit of difficulty coming up with a theme for this week's music. However, after seeing all the stories about the heat around the United States, it sounds to me like the dog days of summer. So. . .it's dog week. And we'll start off with a classic.

With that, the beer light is on and the bar is open for Monday, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the rest of your day, and if there's any breaking news, we will have it here for you as soon as we can.
